MIT-Pitt-RW is looking for talented and passionate students to be a part of a team dedicated to making an autonomous race car capable of high-speed head-to-head races.

Technical capabilities are excellent, but we also want people who are fun to be around. Our team spends a lot of time together, discussing code over lunch, working on problem sets, and just hanging out playing board games. We’re here to learn and support each other, to build friendships that last beyond our time at MIT-Pitt-RW.

Our members go on to companies like Motional, Waymo, Aptiv, Tesla, and Zoox. Along with our additional sponsors Oracle, Mobilitas, Waymo, the ecosystem we live in is inspirational and shows a clear path to being a successful engineer in the autonomous vehicle space.

  • Not at all! Our team accepts students regardless of partner university affiliation, allowing anyone with a passion for autonomous vehicles, racing, etc. to participate and contribute to the team.

    However, given that the team primarily operates out of the Eastern Time Zone, we look for students who would be able to participate comfortably with that time zone.

  • Our team is not affiliated with a research lab at any of our universities. The entirety of its operations are done by and led by students across both engineering and business operations.

    MIT-PITT-RW is built to help students not only pick up practical skills, but thrive and work on a large-scale project from end-to-end. Our team members are given full autonomy to find creative solutions to complex problems.
